Forgiveness, Faith, and Freedom

We all have those times in our lives when we feel like everything is falling apart, but we should keep our eyes on Jesus.  Even when things are hard, we have to remember to forgive those who hurt us and put them in God's hands.  We need to trust in God and He will bring us through any situation!  Forgiveness can give you freedom, but we have to trust God along the way.  Just remember that even in the hard times, God still loves you.  Even when friends or family betray you or hurt you, you always have someone there holding your hand.

Myth or Truth?

Two stories we will compare today are the
Epic of Gilgamesh and Noah's Ark.  Some people
believe that these stories are myths while
others believe one or the other to be true.  Both
are considered accounts of the Great Flood, but
Noah's Ark has more supporting factors standing
behind it.  These stories do have similar traits
such as the fact they both contain a higher
being with the plot to destroy mankind for their
evil actions.  They also have similar story lines.
Noah's Ark and the Epic of Gilgamesh talk
of a Great Flood and the main characters are
required to build a boat.  Though many of these
examples show support for both stories, many
facts show more support for Noah's Ark comparison
with the other story.  In the support of Noah's Ark,
we first come to the fact that this story is found in
the Bible.  The Bible is the Word of God that never
changes and has no errors.  Therefore, this story must
be true based off of that fact alone.  However other
facts suggest this to be true.  One argument is the
structure of the boat.  In the Epic of Gilgamesh,
Gilgamesh is instructed to build a boat made from the
reeds his house is made of.  If anyone tried to sail
on this type of boat, it would fill with water and sink.
On the other hand, the boat Noah constructed was made
of strong wood they wood withstand the water.  Also,
the Ark that Noah built was big enough for his family
and all of those animals.  In the other story we see that
the boat was barely big enough for Gilgamesh himself.
In conclusion, we see that both have some support, but
Noah's ark seems to have reinforced support as the
true story of the Great Flood.
